top speeds

The on-ice portion of the program will build and intensify throughout the summer. During the initial portion of the program we will focus on technical skill development. Proper technique and execution of each skill is critical for a player to realize their maximum potential. The players will learn that both speed and power are vital to success.

The middle segment will be a combination of technical development with the addition of speed. Once the technical aspect of a skill is mastered the player will be asked to add speed to the execution of the skill. From this point forward the player will never perform any skill at less than top speed.

The last portion of the program will be the most demanding. These sessions will be very intense and will combine speed and power work. Players will perform tasks that are uncomfortable and more difficult than they would see during game situations. Pucks will be used in all aspects of this training with the exception of power work.

ON-ICE SESSIONS ELEMENTS: SKATERS

Power warm-up skate and technical development

Interval training and agility training with and without pucks

Positional splits with concentration on skills specific for forwards/defensemen

Flow training  Small ice scrimmages and battles

· Philosophy: The most important element of the training protocol is between the ears of his athletes. Character, confidence and pride are built through hard work, measurable results, and positive feedback from coaches. We believe even the most effective training protocol can quickly spoil an athletes drive if it isn’t rewarding and fun. Through competition, team work, and variety, we’ve created an environment that makes the daily grind continually enjoyable. We recognize our athletes want to be better athletes, not the best at training, so we’ve created an environment for success outside of the gym and in the athletes sport.
